We Love Freedom!

It takes a real strength of character for an individual to embrace freedom. Because, among other things, it requires you to really think about who and what is really going on. It also asks you to be responsible for yourself and your actions. Finally, it exposes you to the realm of infinite possibilities. I admit...this all can be scary...but there's also big benefits!
Who are the real heros? Have we been fed a load of crap for centuries? Is our society insane? Could it be that pimps, prostitutes and drug dealers could be viewed in a positive light or as the "good guys"? That's quite a statement...but it could very well be the case. Have I scared you yet? How about this...could it be that all the Wars that have been fought were done so to serve a very few groups of wealthy individuals? Or that our current "War on Terror" foreign policy is just a way to help corporations and those who profit from them do so. There's much to think about in a free society and most people tend to be afraid to let go of the happy little box they perceive as 'the world'. It's so much easier to quantify presidential candidates into two catagories with five or six issues than to confront infinity.
There's a book I'd like to point out called "Defending the Undefendable" by Walter Block, that may come in handy at this juncture. In it, the author describes diferent cases that would in most cases go unnoticed in our society. Could the person who yells "Fire!" in a movie theatre be a good guy? Or a cop on the take? A blackmailer? A miser? Is it possible that these people could be a good thing? The short answer is Yes...and I'm sure you didn't get a class on this..even in those so called "liberal" colleges and universities. Because this stuff is Nitro! Americans...are individuals... but far from citizens of a free society...and I'm encouraging you to find out for yourself. For me, on the other hand, I'm going to do my best to crack this case wide open. Because I believe...that being different will actually bring us together...in fact, I know it will! Ron Paul's run for office is just one example it's successful application.
Freedom does have burdens. It is scary. It singles you out and relies on you to think about what is happiness for you. It drapes you with the consequences of your own actions. Being "normal" becomes impossible to define. But who are the losers? I suggest it's those who want to put us into boxes and catagorize us. Wouldn't it be interesting to watch one of the Sunday polical shows...if they couldn't catagorize us into...Blacks, Whites, Men, Women, Evangelicals, Northerners....and so one. Just having that discussion and talking in those terms shows how much they hate the idea of individuals. What if your father was black, your mother was white and you were a transsexual church goer from New England? Would you be confused? How would a politician talk to individuals rather than groups? That answer is easy...it's once again, Ron Paul.
Now...you know why they call him crazy...it blows all the "experts" information to bits...all that data about what "blacks" think or what "soccer moms" buy is garbage! Wouldn't it be something to see a commercial aimed at individuals? Say gay sadomasochists, christian swingers or even constitutionalists? That would be a start!
There are more questions than answers when it comes to freedom but thats the way it's supposed to be. There is however, an answer for every question, if you keep your mind open to the possibilities.
The most incomprehensible thing about the world is
that it is at all comprehensible. - Albert Einstein
The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax. - Albert Einstein
All of our problems have solutions in freedom. And that's why it's so important.
